Admin Question by Vix: Why do people want to believe that the President is not actually a US Citizen?
I saw this on another thread and had to address it: The irony of it all is that Obama should be forced to provide written proof of his natural born citizenship. This requires constitutionally that both of his parents be US citizens, and at the time of his birth,his father was not a US citizen and his mother was 17 and not legally an adult to be recognized as a citizen. Either way you need BOTH parents to be US citizens to meet the requirement of natural born status and Obama failed this test miserably. Although Obama did sign a form swearing to the fact that he was a natural born citizen, thus committing a felony act in doing so. There are other facets that Obama has violated as well concerning his eligibility to run and accept the position of the president. How many felonies does this man have to commit before he is forcibly removed from office?

A person does NOT need both parents to be American Citizens in order to have citizenship. In fact, neither parent has to be American; the person just needs to be born on US soil (which includes all US military installations. John McCain was born on a US Military installation in Panama). An American does NOT have to wait to be 18 to be considered a citizen, or to confer citizenship on their children. If that was true, no child in the country would be an American Citizen. You are an American Citizen either from the moment you are born in US soil, or when you become a citizen through the naturalization process. A child born to parents of differing nationalities can even have DUAL citizenship until the age of 18, when they will have to renounce one.
Even if the President HAD been born in another country, he would still be a US Citizen, as his mother was a US Citizen –
Birth Abroad Out-of-Wedlock to a U.S. Citizen Mother: A child born abroad out-of-wedlock to a U.S. citizen mother may acquire U.S. citizenship under Section 301(g) INA, as made applicable by Section 309(c) INA if the mother was a U.S. citizen at the time of the child’s birth, and if the mother had previously been physically present in the United States or one of its outlying possessions for a continuous period of one year.
Take a moment and just do the research. If you still want to think that Obama is a bad person, or is not the person you’d want as your President, that’s fine. In four years, you’ll get another shot. But there’s no need to pretend that he’s not an American. He’s just not the kind of American you’re used to seeing.
Being born in Hawaii DOES make you a naturally born citizen. Hawaii is part of the US. We do all agree on that much, don’t we?

My research is from the State Department. WHAT racial issue? He is bi-racial, not Black. And I’m not defending anyone, I’m asking why people who want to attack him cant attack him based on the facts, but are pretending he isn’t American in the first place. Personally, I think his policies of investing in the American people and in our infrastructure will save this country. And that has nothing at all to do with what color his parents were.
And… you DO know that the term “CZAR” is just short for their proper titles, right? And that the term was coined by Nixon? And that every president since had had “Czars?” If you believe in your argument, why do you need inaccuracies?

Obama was born in America…therefore he is an American citizen. That’s the law… simple…easy.. If other people cannot accept that, then it’s their problem. The point is, he’s the president and until 2012, there’s nothing they can do about it.
One mistake in your logic.
Being a US citizen is NOT the same as being a natural born citizen. To be a natural born citizen you must be born in US territory or have BOTH parents be US citizens. Simply being a US citizen is not enough.
I think a lot of people just don’t trust the guy and the things he reads from his teleprompter. He campaigned as a moderate and his actions so far are more liberal than most people ever thought.
They hate Obama. Many have said that it is his policies. However the mass hysteria we saw before he addressed the students of this nation proved this is much deeper than policy.
They will go to all depths to show there hate. They have twice posted Kenyan birth certificates that were so bogus, there were discredited in minutes.
This may have started by people simply wanting to discredit him, but the insane cause has been taken up by many who are ignorant and hateful
All it would take to put an end to all of this is for him to do exactly what all of us have to do to enroll in school, get a driver license, or even a social security card. The law requires us to show the original or a certified copy of the birth certificate. Why can’t he do that? It is a simple procedure, even if the original has been lost. The courthouse where your birth was registered can produce a certified copy. No problem. Do it and get on with business!

You are making all the arguments for the possibility that he was born in Kenya, but still qualified to be US president.
Your research is really very good, yet some of it unsubstantiated. I don’t know what kind of precedent the age of the mother holds in this argument, or when it was law, or when it was appealed. How much significance it would have, seems unimportant.
The assertion about 0bama’s birthplace being Hawaii still seems weak. Hawaii has been reluctant to show undeniable evidence that it was 0bama’s birth place, and 0bama has spent millions in legal fees to keep these documents under wraps. Why ?
If, as you say, 0bama is an American, than I see very little evidence that he is a loyal, traditional, and patriotic American. His ties to Acorn, Van Jones, Bernadette Dohrn, Bobbie Rush, Rev. Wright, Bill Ayers, and a list of socialist Czars, makes one believe that he is anything but an American.
Your commentary reminds me of the movie ‘Charlie Wilson’s War’ when in the credits they offer accolades for the wonderful job we did clandestinely to rid Afghanistan of its Russian invaders, but then made mention that, “that we fu*ked up the end game !”
With all your defense of 0bama, is the end result for this country unimportant ? Is it the racial issue that means more to you than the survival of the US ?
