Martin Torrijos, the son of General Omar Torrijos, is President of Panama since 2004 and his term will expire in 2009.

    That is right. Every president since Endara has served no more than 5 years.

    Endara served from 1989 – 1994
    Perez Balladarez from 1994 – 1999
    Moscoso Arias from 1999 – 2004
    Torrijos served from 2004 to the present.
